The city has never been wealthier in my time. Picadilly Gardens was a drug and booze riddled dump then too. And they're just about to do it up again.
It's an awful approach to the city coming down from the station but 100 yards away the Northern Quarter (don't like that name at all) is booming on one side and Chinatown* too on the other side too.
*full of foreign devils though, of course..🙄
Manchester is booming. Homelessness still a major problem but if you want to demonise anything go to the real cause...drugs. From the gutters to the 'good life' the effects of drugs and drug trading are the massive elephant in the room. And a huge proportion of our population at every level are complicit.
