Teacher has given up to prolong his life - and he looked a hell of a lot better yesterday. It's not just *the drink* though, is it (as much as we pretend it is)? It's a way of life. We grew up with a generation of families going down the pub, that's what we did. We almost didn't have a choice, and quite honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. It inspired communities and social revolution. It's what we are.

Also Wolfie has given up the booze, and he also looked mighty fine yesterday.

But..... I'm hooked in, I won't give it up lightly. I know I'm probably an alcoholic, but I think I deserve it, it's what I am, it's what I do, and I'm only one step away from hiding the vodka in the cistern.
