- Re: FAO Madpig (and Teacher) re alcohol
Suddenly, however much I dieted, my weight kept increasing. This was not due to eating, but my heart's inability to shift body fluid. I always felt bloated ( looked it too). One morning I woke to find that walking just a few footsteps left me gasping for air.
First GP diagnosed a stomach issue and prescribed for that. It sorted of worked cos I didn't want to eat, and drank very little liquids. However, that was as good as it got. Eventually grandson hauled me to hospital, where congestive heart failure was diagnosed. I was admitted and put in IV diuretics to clear the water.
In 8 days I lost 25kg of water. I've never looked back ( except now mother nature has given me sciatica). It's really odd when you lose 25kg of weight in one week.
But, I am now restricted to 1.5 litres of fluids per day, otherwise it'll all build up again.
Just listen to your body if things don't seem right, it's certain to be telling you something
