I guess my wider point is that what’s strange is how many people rage about government overreach while giving social media companies free rein to harvest everything about them, daily. Some of which do so on a Chinese state run app.

And look, if you’re (not you specifically, just people in general) that desperate for a wank, get a VPN and knock yourself out. Most older teenagers will do exactly that. But there’s still a big difference between a 16 year old finding workarounds and a 9 year old stumbling into stuff they shouldn’t.
