Thing is, it's all very well complaining that we haven't spent any money, but the players have to want to come here. Any player we're looking at needs to be of Championship standard, really. So it's a big ask to get them to drop down to League One. We've done it with Saville, Naismith and Wells, but to get a youngish, proven goalscorer to do it is a different thing altogether.

I think we'd have better luck going for someone from L2 who notched a decent number last season and has potential to step up to the Champ. Fuck knows if that would work either, though. Our knack for picking up lower league gems isn't what it used to be.
