Tom, Thank you for your response, I have yet to see a roller release on any L.C. Smith other than one with ejectors. I primarily collect pre 1913 guns and the ones I own that do not have ejectors have a round black insert (grade 3) with a dogs head or a solid metal insert (grade 2) the grade 00 and 0 have nothing. I do not own a gun above grade 5 though and my grade 5's all have ejectors. I am specifically referring to the period (1901) when changing from the type 1 ejector (with the round escutcheon) to the type 2 ejector system (with the banjo escutcheon). I have noticed that there are different style escutcheons during this one year. If you own a extractor gun with the roller release I would certainly like to see a picture of that. Thanks, Ken
