I would certainly consider them "desirable" and agree that they are not encountered as frequently as some other Grades. One reason we may see less of them than the lower Grades is that only 9211 were produced (according to James Stubbendieck's "L.C. Smith Production Records") while 57096 Grade No. OO and 29061 Grade No. O were produced. Even Grade No. 2 had a higher production at 12483. Its a little harder to explain why you might see more Grade No. 3 than Grade No. 1 because the records reflect that only 3042 of Grade No. 3 were produced. FWIW.
