Allan, Your guns appears to be an 1895 transition gun...it does not have AEs but extractors. The disc inlay you refer to is actually hard rubber, and reproductions are readily available. While there appears to be some engraving, I can't tell from the pics what grade it is. There should be a grade number 0,1,2 stamped on the water table...that would indicate the grade. I'll let some of the experts on these real early guns chime in....some of these early guns have all kinds non-typical markings and configurations. John
