It bothers me because I am a hunter... there are lots of times I fire one barrel and the dog is birdie and I put the safety on but I am ready if something flushes. I don't want to be the guy with my gun broke open and fumbling shells when a bird flushes. Plus I like things to work as intended especially safety equipment. If I was just a clay bird shooter I don't think I would care if the safety worked at all... in the woods things happen differently.
