Thx Drew. Yep, no doubt they had 2 3/4 chambers back then. But that still doesn't get to the question here...which I guess might be several questions to get to the right answer.
1. Like other makers did (Fox and Parker come to mind), did Hunter offer difference chamber lengths in the same gauge at the same time? Or did they only ever offer one chamber length per gauge at a given time? 2. If the answer to question #1 is "NO, they only offered one chamber length per gauge at any given time"...then in what year did they move to 2 3/4?
See what I'm getting at? Not when 2 3/4 was available...but by what year was it the only offering in 12 gauge?
Know that would at least tell me whether my chambers are considered 2 3/4's, and maybe they just didn't cut them "generously" as some of my other guns are? Or were they offering multiple lengths in 1942, such that I might very well have a 2 5/8's gun?
