    Thanks for the advice. I would never send the old girl under the knife to modify the chokes or shoot steel shot. Shooting RST fiber wad shells the chokes on this gun are remarkable. I would never consider it a competition gun for clays. However, it is fun busting them out there at the 50 or 60 yard mark. I am a little skeptical about the "Ducks at 80 yards" in the original L.C. Smith advertisements.

    The gun has bores at .732 and choke restriction of .42/.43. It is my understanding that the "long range" performance the gun was touted to have is from a combination of choke restriction and choke taper...maybe a bit of overboring, at any rate it will break a clay a long way out there. This gun will probably see some service on a Gobbler this spring, 7 1/2's to the head should do the trick.
