shooting a LongRange at clays is like shooting a rifle Archived Message

Shooting an original LongRange bored LCS at flying clay targets is like trying to shoot a 22 rimfire at flying clay targets.

These LongRange LCS are choked way way to tight for use with a modern plastic wad.

The longest SKEET target shot at is at about 22 yards and most SKEET targets are much closer then 22 yards. The size of an original LongRange pattern at 22 yards is about 14 inches in diameter and the closer you get the smaller the pattern is.

A normal 16 yard line TRAP target is shot at when it is about 27 yards to 30 yards out from the 16 yard line. The few original LongRange LCS that I have seen and shot are over choked for 16 yard line trap.

The answer is to open up the chokes on these LongRange LCS to be able to use them with modern plastic wads.

If you ever want to shoot anything other then lead shot out of your LCS LongRange then you will need to OPEN the chokes up for that purpose too.

    Good Shooting To You, Jent
