Your gun is a pre-1913 gun and the "1" stamp would ID the gun as a Grade 1. The 9XXXX serial number records have been lost to time, so we can't give you an exact shipping date; but it is likely 1898 or later (serial number blocks in the 445XX range are also missing). Most likely your gun has a Regular ("R") frame; check the side plates and if you have only one screw slot on the left side and no screw slots on the right side, it is an R framed gun. You may have difficulty finding a replacement iron (check eBay and auction sites like Gun Broker); but an iron from a post 1913 R framed gun should work (unless your frame is one of the early heavy R framed guns).
