Skip welcome to the world of "elsies". Looks like you found yourself a nice 1948 16 ga. with ejectors.
Doing what you want to do, stock, barrels is not hard. You can do them yourself. If you want the barrels to look original then you will have to have them done professionally. The glass bedding of the stock I have never tried, maybe the next one.
As far as refinishing the stock, and forend I use a citrus based stripper and only have to put a little on and let it sit and then wipe it off. The main thing is you have to take the stock from the receiver. This also is not hard to remove but harder to replace. The main thing is that you need the right size screwdrivers to fit the slots PERFECTLY, no slop. Remember where the screws came from, the one long screw for the sideplate and the screw from the trigger plate assembly to the top tang are almost identical.
Use a toothbrush with some stripper and go into the checkering and remove the finish there also.
I use a old steam iron to raise the dents and then lightly sand the stock in the direction of the grain. The final finish is what you would like to use. On the higher end grades they used an oil finish with many coats applied to give it the desired look. On the lower grades they used a varnish and applied it over the sidelocks to protect the case coloring somewhat. I use a French Polishing to do mine, takes a little over an hour to do and puts many coats upon itself. It consists of shellac, a little varnish, oil and a clean lint free cotton cloth and a cotton ball and some "elbow grease" to apply. I think the finish is nice, it is durable and easy to touch up.
As for the bluing of the barrels, I use Brownell's Oxpho-Blue, it does a decent job and you can put on as many coats as you like.
Good luck and hope you will join the L.C.S.C.A. and keep us posted on your results.
