    Yes, it has Damascus barrels. There is no automatic ejector.

    Not sure what you mean about squiggly line engraving. I don't see any such thing unless you mean the curved outline of the lockplates. Any pics of what you refer to?

    What is the best way to store a gun like this? (barrel up, barrel down, in a case, horizontal, etc)

    Thanks much for your input. It sounds like the gun was purchased by her great grandfather, which is her original male ancestor who reportedly entered the US in the 1870's. That means at the time of the gun purchase, he was the town's active blacksmith, and it has historical value. Too bad I am not aware of any particular paperwork that can trace the gun purchase and prove its origin. I will keep my eye out in the future for this.

    Thanks for the wishes from everyone about my wife. She has not been living here for nearly a year, and is not expected to survive in the long term.
