Brian, I join John in sending prayers, and wish to add some additional information regarding your gun. Assuming that it is an extractor gun in 12 ga., there is a gap in the serial number sequence available, and yours falls in that "black hole" but is sufficiently close to known production to be able to date it---probably 1898. Also, on the lockplates, it should have a squiggly line around them--- the only engraving on an "O" grade,and, most likely the gun has Damascus barrels as they were much more common than steel on "O" grades. As to ammo, have someone who can properly appraise the condition of the barrels before you select a load. I'll leave selection to those who are more familiar with vintage loads.
