The reduction in pressure is substantial. Here's the data for 16g to 28g tubes: 16 to 28 Winchester AA - 5900 psi and 1252 fps 16 to 28 Remington STS - 5100 psi and 1215 fps I would still urge you to have the brls checked by a doublegun specialist smith for defects, pits, and wall thickness, and the gun for integrity of the action and lock-up.
