Everything looks good, looks like it has the raished rib which became standard in 1940. The only thing I personally don't like is the recoil pad. Stock would be too short without it, so like Revdocdrew said it was cut. Was just a Cabela's in Hamburg and they do have 2 twenties in the Gun Libarary, one for $2195 that has been there for close to 2 years, and the other 20 is $995.00. 28 " barrels, wood is decent, no recoil pad, screws are buggered on left plate, barrels look good, no dings. They also have a nice 16 ga, looks refinished for $1499. and a Specialty Grade 12 ga. worn fore end, standard features, $2999. Good luck and try to speak to Joe Rosell, good man and will give you good information. I think #1399 is a little high for the condition and maybe Joe could help you out.
