    Stock straightening Archived Message

I have been the owner of an LCS Premier Grade 20 ga.(shipped 1949) for several years now and have used the gun quite effectively on quail and pheasant. I shoot from the right although I am left eye dominant.Recently I have been told, and shown by measurement, that the stock has a 3/16 inch cast suggesting it was originally made for a left handed shooter. I understand the stock can be straightened and if done would greatly improve mounting of the gun while shooting. Before proceeding I would greatly appreciate the input of the many fine voices who regularly contribute to this forum as to what I can expect.Would it be the right thing to do? Can it be done without 'damage'? Cost? Or,basically, would it be worthwhile? I do of course want to keep the gun and continue shooting it. I look forward to your responses.
