I am sorry about your dissatisfaction with the Factory Letter you received.
It is unfortunate, but in many cases, the Factory Letter simply verifies much of what you already know of your gun - whether LC Smith, Marlin, or Winchester. This, I believe, is the primary purpose for our services, not the uncovering of previously unknown information.
I, for one, would feel reassured in knowing that my gun is what I think it is rather than an "upgrade". I know there are several individuals who subscribe to this forum who have not been so fortunate in all of their dealings.
