1948 featherweight field 20 g loadsArchived Message

I've looked over previous posts and some folks appear to have the opinion that LC Smiths made in the late 1940's should be able to handle most modern shotgun loads. Is there agreement here, or is this a debatable point? I hunt quail, chukar, and pheasant and will shoot a lighter load if needed, but I'd rather shoot a modern load (primarily for convenience...I don't reload) if there is agreement that my 1948 featherweight field 20g can handle it. Otherwise, I'll look into the light loads that have been discussed in prior posts on this forum. Thanks for your input.
