What a wonderful gift John. Your Field grade .410 was made in 1930. Only 2,668 .410 double guns were made by Hunter Arms 1926-1950, 2,375 were Field grades. .410s are highly sought by collectors and certainly a check and clean up by a doublegun specialist smith would be appropriate. Let us know what part of the country you're from and we might be able to make a recomendation. You can check gunbroker.com, gunsamerica.com, etc. for the asking prices of .410 LC Smiths. Price is highly dependent on condition, esp. the case colors.
