    Lots of things Jon:
    1. Type "Low pressure 12g loads" in the Search Messages box and you'll find several threads about loads for your gun.
    2. Your gun is very likely well past due for a good check and clean. The smith will also examine the head of the stock and around the locks for cracks. I would recomend some form of wood reinforcement, such as glasbedding, which would give you more options on your choice of shotshells. Even if that was done, I'd suggest using only 1 oz target loads for clays (like the excellent Winchester AA 1 oz Xtra-Lite) and limiting yourself to 1 1/8 oz loads for birds.
    3. You have a wonderful 'shooter' rather than a collector gun and there is no reason not to make the gun right for you and your intended use. The smith can open the choke as you desire and fit a recoil pad for the necessary LOP. If you'll type 'Recoil Pads' into the Search box, you'll find some threads about period appropriate pads like the 'Silvers' style.
    4. Let us know what part of the country you're from and we might be able to recomend a doublegun specialist smith near you. It would be invaluable to be able to go over the gun in person with the smith.
With a little clean up and tune up you'll have yourself a wonderful bird gun- please let us know how things turn out.
