    Cody Letter Question(s) Archived Message

Got my Cody Letter today. And dealing with them was a wonderful experience in itself. They ( Jessica ?) did the research and got the letter out even faster than the 2-3 weeks they promised. It pretty much confirmed what I knew and added a few tidbits I didn't know. Date finished: Dec.9,1919 and Date shipped: Dec. 18,1919 are pretty straight forward, but I'm left with a couple of questions. The last line of the letter makes reference to something: "Also written on line: E - O Specialty gauge, 26" barrel, date finished April 2,1919". Why the difference in dates, and what does E - O mean? My other question is in regard to the "purchaser". The letter says that the purchaser was H & D Folsom Arms Company. Does anyone know what that company became or if it was absorbed into another company? I would like to find out if there may be old records somewhere with info on when and to whom Folsom sold the gun to. My brief research on the internet so far leads me to think they were sort of an early 20th century sporting goods store (similar to A&F maybe).

As others on this forum have said before,'this stuff is addicting'. (And I think a trip to Cody is in the offing in mid August). Hope to meet some of ya'll in Sanford next month. In the meantime, thanks for any and all help.
