Greetings! New member so please help me if I use wrong terminology.
I have an L.C. Smith 16g that by the serial number was born in 1910. (65300 grade 00). It came to me through my father and before then my maternal grandfather.
The casing on one the right side seems to have some "pockmarks". The left side seems to be fine. I uploaded some pics. They side is smooth to the touch so they are superficial markings.
The gun is great, works perfect, and the barrels ring true when tapped. My question is around if I should reach out to one of the blacksmiths mentioned here in the forum, or just leave well enough alone.
Basically should this be addressed or is it not something to worry too much about. I know the final decision is mine, just looking for some thoughts.
Thanks!
Mark
