Buck Hamlinís Engraved Hammers in LCSCA Journal
Posted by Douglas Precourt on September 9, 2020, 11:36 pm
While reading our most recent LCSCA Journal I noticed on page 18 an enlarged picture of the beautifully engraved hammers on Buckís E quality hammer gun. Article says that it was one of the last hammer guns made using the ďhighĒ hammers (not sure if that means type 1 or 2 hammers?). I also have an E quality high hammer gun from 1885 with the same side plate engraving, but regular, simply engraved hammers. Similarly, the my gunís hammer screws are plain unlike those pictured.
Where these nicely engraved hammers common?
