in my records the last Type I hammer gun is serial number 53558 circa 1896. The earliest Type II hammer in my records is serial number 53627, circa 1896.

In Buck's article he states his guns serial number is 29628 and was built in 1894 and I'm sure that was from a Research Letter. The thing that is odd is that I have serial numbers in this 29000 range that date to 1890. Some have no makers name on the barrel and have the Fulton rounded lug, so does serial number 29743 date to 1894 also? This is the last serial number in the 29000 range I have.
There were no hammer guns made from 1891-1893 and the first one I have for 1894 is serial number 50001 which is also a 5 pin lock with Type I hammer and the joint check.

Was Buck's gun made out of order or finished later than 1894?
