If you're going to play Garner there, you have to a) protect him a bit and b) redivert the attacks away from him.

He got decent protection, but the amount of times we tried to start attacks down that side was just utterly baffling. He had one option, bang it up the pitch, usually directly to a Leeds player. He was never going to make yards and their press meant anything else was risky.

The truth is that we're working with 80% the same personnel as last season, when we weren't very good either. We can sign average players quickly or sign good players slowly - they tend to know they're good and aren't desperate to play in a team that doesn't have the ball for 70% of games. None of this should be news to people.

As for Moyes, again I am not sure what anyone expected. He's not going to change now. Maybe when he's been dumped around Christmas, we'll try and get Silva back from Fulham, seeing as hiring managers from the past who won fuck all seem to get people excited.
