Houdini & Doyle - crime caper from a few years back. Arthur Conan Doyle and Harry Houdini team up to assist plod in early 1900’s London. A daft though decent idea but it just doesn’t work as well as it could have done. Acting is decent but the writing is lacking and overall it’s a bit meh so no surprise it was only granted one series. Largely filmed in Liverpool so at least you can pass the time scenery spotting. 5.9/10

Taskmaster episodes 6-10. Didn’t really enjoy the first few episodes of this but the thankfully the second half of the series was much better. Episodes 7, 8 and 9 in particular raised a few laughs and the whole ‘sixth-form drama club’ vibe had been toned down. Stevie Martin was very nice and likeable too. Good to see that she’s part of the cast for the new upcoming Mitchell & Webb sketch show on C4. Will be watching that with interest. The fat woman at the end was hugely annoying though innit. 7.3/10
