Usually the wi-fi routers companies give you are generally cheap shite, upgrading a router can usually fix wi-fi dropping out.
Could be there's loads more usage in the area with all the kids being off school gaming, people working from home etc during the summer too.
If it's through the phone line with BT or one of the companies jumping on their network, then could just be heavy use lately that they're throttling.
If its full fibre to the house like with virgin, I had the same problem with the wi-fi constantly dropping out, bought a new router and had no problems since.
