Are the companies being cunts.

My internet speed was always fine.

Drops out all the time now while I’m working.

How can it suddenly be crap, is it so you upgrade to their million miles an hour latest one.

Weird how the old one used to work fine.

I was on BT FTTP and swapped to EE. I was reluctant to switch router as it's the same company and I had to change all the passwords but having done all that the EE router is far better. I think since I switched there's been a further 2 upgrades/ versions so not sure on them but mine is really good.

Depends who it is with?

Usually the wi-fi routers companies give you are generally cheap shite, upgrading a router can usually fix wi-fi dropping out.

Could be there's loads more usage in the area with all the kids being off school gaming, people working from home etc during the summer too.
If it's through the phone line with BT or one of the companies jumping on their network, then could just be heavy use lately that they're throttling.

If its full fibre to the house like with virgin, I had the same problem with the wi-fi constantly dropping out, bought a new router and had no problems since.

Shangri-la is right. Most of the routers shipped with the broadband providers are crap, especially at managing multiple devices and spreading the bandwidth appropriately. I have Virgin Media and their router is shite, I bought the one I've linked below it's brilliant. Also you can download the app with it and manage specific devices that are connected to the router. I can block my kids devices, put them in kids mode etc, I can make my devices get better bandwidth etc.

Loving my Hyperoptic Broadband full fibre - mega fast and only £16/month. Result.

I asked Vodafone when my end date was.

They are upgrading me to full fibre 500 for an extra £0.40p.

I’m assuming that’s good.

Working from home the last few years i've basically tried them all. EE seem to be the best of the bad bunch lately. I've got this super fast thing now with a super router plus wifi booster and it's been spot on. I pay £34 a month and I have my mobile with them too which gives me shit benefits like unlimited 5g and shit like that.

I had issues with mine a few weeks ago. Engineer reckoned it was due to the hot weather.
