He was the original Roman Abramaovich, bankrolling the 'Mersey Millionaires' to sixties success, yet Sir Philip Carter the man who's main contributions seemed to be not sacking Howard Kendall and setting up the Premier League without making sure Everton were in the best position to benefit from it gets a stand named after him?
Seems to me that when the arl fella died, he left behind a legacy of hangers on running the club who were forced to face the reality of him not pumping his money in anymore and the rot has continued ever since. Was he the money man behind our success in the 80's, would we have achieved those days without him being around?
