I haven’t had one for 18 months now and I put that wholly down to taking a three month break from alcohol and then when I returned to it not having more than 15 units a week, 5 units max a day. Also cut right down on red meat ( twice a week Max) and tinned fish.
I think you can get over it with changes to diet if that’s the cause if the joint isn’t too badly damaged. There are medications and stuff that cause it as well but don’t know anything about those.
