My guess, and it is only a guess, is that Queen Elizabeth II would not require a further coronation if Scotland became independent during her lifetime.
She was presented with the Scottish Crown, in Edinburgh, soon after her coronation in London.
I would leave the open space under King Edward's Chair.
After independence, the order of coronations would be determined by practicalities only I would think.
