That's about what I suspected, given the same trends in the US. Walgreen's drug and variety stores are buying up corner churches, razing them, and putting stores in their place. Some church buildings have been converted to other uses. This is especially true of Catholic churches; some Protestant denominations are flourishing. Anyway, the Nieuwe Kerk is very beautiful.
