From The Crown Jewels 1998, “The Sceptre suffered some damage at the coronation of George V in 1911 and was repaired by Garrard’s, whose account indicates that the edges of the sleeves had been partially affected.” One wonders just what was going on!

This sceptre is decorated with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and spinels.
