They're wearing the correct coronets, obviously. I think it would be very confusing if we were to have men deriving rank from their wives. A Pandora's box too far!

This is going a bit O/T but I'd have thought for royals (leaving the nobility out of it), gender neutrality for succession to the throne would also mean gender equality in rank for royal couples.
But that does seem to be a stumbling block for some people.
In effect, there will be degrees of equality - which is an absurdity.
