I have a sizable music collection of approximately 12k songs spanning different genres, and within that a 4,300 song playlist that plays Rock continuously on a Part-15 FM transmitter so I can flip to that whenever I want, anywhere around the house. To be honest, I prefer hearing personalities. In spite of my Part-15 playing my music anytime I want, after a while it feels lifeless to me. Spotify also feels lifeless. MeTV FM after 4 or 5 songs feels dead. SiriusXM (yes I have that too) is the same, and the really tiny bits of deejays between every few songs on certain channels sound irrelevant.
My opinion is that as the number of choices we all have increases logarithmically, the quality of many of those choices slides downward. Nevertheless, I’m still happy with the dozens of stations I get from Chicago and south of it.
