There are real musical adjustments in the programming of WLS-FM since Todd took over.
I reviewed their playlist for a number of days and it's interesting, the morning duo of Dave & Kim play A LOT of music during their shift. I'm all for everyone working. Don't get me wrong; but why have a morning duo when WLS-FM is so music-intensive during that time?
Does WDRV-FM 97.1 factor in regarding WLS-FM having a distinctly separate identity? WLS-FM used to really rock under former management. It's been watered down. Don't look at the 6+ monthly PPM figures. This is why they're free.
My first choice for rock is WXRT-FM 93.1 when the radio is on. If they're in an extended set of commercials, I'll likely check in on WDRV-FM. Nothing worth listening to, maybe WLS-FM.
As I've previously mentioned, I've largely abandoned Chicago radio and play my large rock library. When I feel like Jazz or Classical music, it's there as well.
Finally, I would like to take an informal poll. When listening to a Chicago station and something pushes you to tune away, where do you go? Another Chicago station? One of the suburban stations if you can get a decent signal? Satellite, Pandora, YouTube, etc.
Thank you.
