After he left, they started evolving it to a more uptempo feel, but it still had a lot of downtempo songs.
After The Loop went to EMF, they started focusing more toward the way WLS was in the 80s. Rock and New Wave leaning. Same deal today, except it has some 90s songs in rotation. Not many.
It wasn't unheard of to hear Michael Jackson on some Rock stations for a period of time in the 80s. MTV had an AOR format at first and played his music. Obviously he was the reason they evolved out of it. But WLS probably should be playing his music if they are trying to reflect that era. WLS did in the 80s after all.
