I agree with Z, Q-Rock is low budget, the station pipes in HardDrive XL with Lou Brutus evenings. They recently showed Dawn Avello the door and shifted Kati Waldron to cover. My unquantified experience is that there are a lot gearheads in the listening area — Wilmington, Joliet, Coal City, Diamond, Kankakee, you’ll hear Q-Rock 100.7 coming from garages through the area. The advertisers are local bars, weekend band venues, auto parts stores, testosterone boosters, local eateries, etc. They’re tapped into a revenue lifeline just big enough to sustain, for however long that lasts.

Side note, I see WRXQ is streaming via several platforms, including Audacy. Audacy? I’m guessing Alpha or Walnut aren’t paying anything for that carriage? It’s hard for me to even grasp who pays who, and who benefits most, with arrangements like this.
