I'm reading this thread and when I see "60s heavy" as reported by WYTZZ95FM, I recall the recreation of WCFL. In this case, it was WCFL-FM 104.7 in Morris, IL. The hits of the 60s and 70s. If my memory serves, they boosted their signal to the point it interfered with WJMK-FM 104.3 in Chicago itself. 104.7 went dark for a month or so and this was the beginning of the end. Hard to believe this was 30-35 years ago.

If that station which still uses the WCFL call letters were in that format, the demo would be quite high. I think those "local" stations are supported by local advertising.

I don't have much of an opinion about Tom Kent. Did he have an oldies show on the 103.9 FM frequency at one point? I had a friend who had that station on all the time in her car.
