What I found are "combat icebreakers," which amount to about what the Danes have...heavy-gun armed icebreakers with containerized missile abilities:

Again, we will have lightly-gunned with containerized weapons. They and the Danes have heavier-gunned with containerized weapons. They also are only apparently building about four, with two going to border patrol. And they have been delayed by Russia's troubles resulting from "the war." As they have a huge Arctic coastline, I would expect them to have many icebreakers.
They are not supermen, however.

whilst USCG is talking future lightly armed medium cutters the Russians have a fleet of icebreaking destroyers as well as the huge heavy nuclear ice breakers

Okay, thank you.
So, what? The Danes have large-gun armed arctic security ships with weapon upgrade abilities. The US is building lightly-gunned armed security ships with weapon upgrade abilities. The Danish vessels primarily patrol off Greenland. According to administration statements, the new security cutters will "make the Alaskan coast more secure." It's certainly nice that Denmark invests so well in Greenland's basic offshore security. I think they should. Lovely vessels. Thank you for pointing them out.

The basic configuration of the Arctic Security Cutter is not armed at all. That is the difference.
