yeah, I Know...I forgot the "(X)" on purpose.....
My First unit was a FF, a KNOX-class FF ( not DE, got converted by early/mid 80s ). Anyways, That ship had a 5" gun, triple torpedo tubes on both sides, helo deck, and for My ship...a BPDMS. It did have a sonar...but wasn't sure of its capabilities (I'm an OSSN) at That time.
I later transferred to a FFG for the rest of my 20+ year career, and Though FASTER had "better armament" (although it was Only my last ship that had the CIWS).
BOTTOM Line..... they were Both used as ASW platforms, which is what I trained my Whole life in C.I.C...... And THAT is what this new ship Better do....maybe have better defense for knocking down drones, which I BET..will be Way Better than firing cruise missiles at each other. But I'm out of the USN

Instead of the Constellation class, now frigates based on the Coast Guard cutters of the Legend class will be built:

I am curious how many changes they will do with that design: adding better radar, adding sonar, anti-ship missiles, VLS? And will that class be successful? And can they built them rapidly?
