The Constellation FFG 62 is at 12% completion, the USCGC Friedman was aT 15% completion (cancelled in June of 2025). Navy claims they can have the National Security Frigate by 2028.

This ship was proposed in the early 2010s with 3 versionsa patrol frigate, a medium frigate or a full battle frigate.
The proposed ship won't have VLS and other defense requirements, and they will be incrementally improved, according to Naval Institute.
HOWEVER, there is one cancelled Coast Guard cutter on the rails, that could be finished quickly - assuming they don't monkey with it.

Without the Navy's (NAVSEA) long ago abandoned Preliminary Design input, initiatives such as this are 50-50 at best. We cannot allow industry to drive the warship construction train; no one should be surprised to learn that DDG 51 was the last combatant class based on a NAVSEA Preliminary Design.
