what i was trying to state is simple really, the US is desperatly short of designers, shipyard workers, ship yards, and as for te Koreans, last i heard was they were refusing to risk being ICEd at any pay scale, this was from a merchant shipbuilding report from korea via holland, have you any very recent update?

We will see how these will be equipped. A Mk 56 launcher for ESSM would be easier to add than a Mk 70 (which has strike length, which is not necessary for ESSM).
The current administration appears not to focus on numbers - see the Trump class "battleship", which will certainly not provide the numbers to replace the older DDG and CG (it is probaly not thought to replace those, but such a "battleship" would have only a role in a modern navy, it is used similar to a CG or DDG), but in the worst case will distract resources from the development of a replacement for the DDG/CG.
Hopefully, it will be at least possible to fix the issues with the shipyards...
