Most of these nations never impacted the little world of ship modeling. I never ordered anything from Bosnia. Bulgaria yes! OKB submarines but since OKB withdrew from further producing 1/700 US sub kits due to a lack of sales. Ehh. Now OKB’s US customers of armor modelers will be impacted but not I.
I am hoping US dealerships keep their foreign stocks up (which they never do) and US 3D printing flourishes. Ever see anything by Red Devil Designs or Tom’s printed aircraft? Would love to see ISW expand into 1/700 and Corsair Armada make a come back.
Don’t get me wrong I love BlackCat’s 1/700 USN radars but I loved Muyi’s MK 37 gun directors and radar as well. All these foreign manufacturers will have to find a U.S. dealer network with money and a strong customer base otherwise as the Chinese did to the domestic garage resin guys get shut out of the US market.
Most Americans were (are) too ignorant or pre-occupied to understand that ballooning inflationary trade deficits were costing them their standard of living and forget the standard of living for future generations. What dollars went abroad never came back in either substantial purchases in the US, or investment. So much for globalism.
My only modeling purchases are the future Vee offerings of Brooklyn class CLs if they now come about at all. Other than that nada. Wallet closed until dust settles. Eventually I do believe a flat uniform De Minimis tax/tariff will be placed on all items coming from anywhere to end confusion.

Some good news as reported by USA Today regarding other shipment methods such as FedEx and UPS:
"South Korea's post said last week customers will be able to send packages through its partnership service with UPS.
"FedEx's Australian business on Aug. 26 also said it continued to accept and transport shipments to the United States, according to Reuters, while New Zealand's post resumed shipments on Aug. 28 due to a new commercial sending option."
