What is worse case scenario with a full coolant loss and meltdown? Supposedly these reactors have additional containment buildings...but....how good are those really. And if breached, that means uncontrolled release into the atmosphere, that could go on for ..how long? Winds...around the northern hemisphere... Not good I am not a fission fan at all really. Fusion, sure, solar power. I think if we had parity R&D monies and interest thrown at fusion power, the solar, like have been put into fission power, that we would be generations ahead of what we have now and there wouldn't be any dangers from it, nor any "nuclear proliferation" issues or tracking megatonnage of waste and low level radioactive debris, etc. Ya, fission makes a lot of "hot". We can make "hot" other and much more safer ways.
