In 1998, we bought this place for $90k.
A house down on the lake at that time was sold for $250k and it is selling for $699k today! Our taxes are sky high now. I can't imagine what they will be like when it sells. And that one is just a normal sized house, and the lake is basically a drying up muddy, weedy huge pond. Great fishing though!
We're afraid our downfall here will be the high property taxes on our place. We also are beginning to hate this HOA. It was pretty good when we moved here. Steve stays on the board as a trustee so he can hear what is going on. A guy wanted to move his modular home in and they are trying not to let him. He has the ground all prepared for it. It's gonna be interesting. He was one that helped so much from the storm damages last March.
