According to Zillow, it's now worth 5x that. And our farm... oh my... We got it at $1500/acre back in 2012 and I've been told that if I wanted to sell right now, I could probably get $4000/acre for it.

Thankfully, the farm hasn't been assessed for taxes since before we bought it so taxes are only costing me about $400/year. I may not be able to maintain it any more but the land itself will still appreciate in value so I'm not going to sell it unless I have to.

HOAs are rough. I can see both sides of them but I can't imagine ever living in a community governed by one.... it'd drive me nuts to be told what I could & couldn't do with my own property!
